Kanpur ISIS case: Two arrested for waging war against state
Accused Mohammad Atif supplied arms and ammunitions to the accused persons and associated himself with the other accused in the conspiracy, the NIA says.
The National Investigation Agency has arrested two persons in connection with the Kanpur Islamic State case. Asif Iqbal and Mohammad Atif were arrested after evidence of a criminal conspiracy against them cropped up.

Both these persons are from Uttar Pradesh and the NIA says that they were setting up a module of the ISIS in Kanpur along with several others. The NIA accuses them of being involved in a conspiracy of planning terrorist acts to wage war against the state. Three accused persons Mohammad Faisal, Gauss Mohammad Khan and Md Azhar were earlier arrested by the NIA in the case.
Accused Asif Iqbal became a member of the proscribed organisation and took oath of allegiance and associated himself with other accused in the furtherance of the conspiracy. Accused Mohammad Atif supplied arms and ammunitions to the accused persons and associated himself with the other accused in the conspiracy, the NIA says.
