Kangana Ranaut Vows to Retaliate if Provoked in Mandi Lok Sabha Race
In a recent statement, actor Kangana Ranaut, now the BJP candidate for the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, made it clear that she is not one to shy away from confrontations. "I don't go around picking fights, but if you hit me once, be ready to be hit multiple times," she declared on Tuesday. This remark came shortly after she filed her nomination papers for the upcoming June 1 election in the constituency. During an interview, Ranaut emphasized that her potential victory would mark a significant milestone in her life.

Ranaut's candidature has sparked a series of verbal exchanges with Congress leaders, particularly after she made derogatory remarks about Rahul Gandhi and Vikramaditya Singh, labeling them with pejorative nicknames. The tension escalated when Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate's X handle posted derogatory remarks against Ranaut, which were later deleted with Shrinate claiming the posts were made by someone else with access to her account.
Vikramaditya Singh, the Congress candidate opposing Ranaut and a member of the prominent Rampur Bushair royal family, has criticized Ranaut's lack of connection with the people of Himachal Pradesh. In response, Ranaut has defended her stance and actions, asserting that any attacks against her will be met with a strong response.
Amidst this political skirmish, Ranaut also highlighted the widespread support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Himachal Pradesh. She confidently predicted that the BJP would secure all four Lok Sabha seats in the state, contributing to the party's ambitious 400-seat target. Her admiration for Modi's leadership was evident as she praised his enduring popularity and referred to him as the only "guarantee" in current times.
Furthermore, Ranaut shared her experiences attending the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, expressing how the Ram temple serves as an inspiration globally. She underscored the importance of Ram Rajya and Sanatan Dharma in her political narrative, aligning her views closely with those of the BJP.
The actor-turned-politician also took a moment to discuss her choice of attire during her nomination filing, specifically mentioning the traditional jewel jot on her Kullu cap as a symbol of auspiciousness. This gesture reflects her attempt to connect with local culture and traditions amidst the heated political campaign.
Ranaut's transition from Bollywood to politics has been marked by controversy and bold statements. Her assertive approach and readiness to engage in political battles reflect her determination to make an impact in her new arena. As the election date approaches, all eyes will be on Mandi to see whether Ranaut's cinematic fame and outspoken personality will translate into electoral success.
