Additional Sessions Judge Yashwant Kumar allowed the bail application. Geetika was found dead in her room on August 4, 2012. And in her suicide note, she mentioned clearly that the minister was harassing her and her family members. She called him a "crook and a cheat" and named another Aruna Chadha in her letter.

He was released on a surety of Rs 5 lakhs.
