Kamal Nath to head screening committee for Assam polls
New Delhi, March 8: The Congress on Tuesday appointed Kamal Nath as the chairman of the screening committee for the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
The screening committee was constituted by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.

"Kamal Nath is the chairman of the screening committee for Assam assembly elections. Zuber Khan is one of the members of the committee. The general secretary/in-charge of state, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and leader Congress Legislative Party (CLP) will also be part of the committee," said Janardan Dwivedi, general secretary, Congress.
The first and second phase of the Assam assembly elections will be held on April 4 and April 11 respectively.
