Congress Leader Kamal Nath Doubts Timely Money Transfer Under BJP's Ladli Bahna Scheme
Congress leader Kamal Nath questions the scheduled money transfer under BJP’s flagship scheme, the Ladli Bahha Yojana. He suggests that the 10th date for transferring Rs 1,250 to beneficiaries might not come this time around. The state government has dismissed these claims as misleading.
The President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress, Kamal Nath, expressed doubts on Sunday about the timely transfer of funds to beneficiaries under the Ladli Bahna Yojana. This flagship scheme of the ruling BJP government promises a monthly financial aid to its recipients. However, Kamal Nath's skepticism was dismissed by the BJP as misleading.
Ladli Bahna Yojana: A Closer Look

The Ladli Bahna Yojana is an initiative launched by the Madhya Pradesh government where Rs 1,250 is transferred directly into beneficiaries' bank accounts every month on the 10th day. Initially, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced that each beneficiary would receive Rs 1,000 per month. Later he declared that this amount would be increased to Rs 1,250 and subsequently raised further to Rs 3,000 in due course.
Allegations of Irregularities
Kamal Nath has raised concerns over whether these transfers will occur as scheduled this time around. He voiced his apprehensions via a post on social media platform X on Sunday night saying "Sisters, I heard that this time the 10th date is not coming." His statement implies uncertainty about whether or not beneficiaries can expect their money from this scheme at all.
A Swipe at Government Advertisements
Nath also criticized state government advertisements promoting this initiative with their tagline 'Das Tareekh Aa Rahi Hai' which translates to 'The tenth is coming'. According to him, despite spending crores of public money over four months for these promotions under this slogan's banner; it seems like there might be a U-turn in policy implementation by Shivraj’s government now.
Questioning The Scheme’s Authenticity
Kamal Nath further claimed that the BJP government's calendar does not have the date 10 this time. He suggested that just like their scheme is a means to cheat votes, their '10th' has also turned out to be a trick. This insinuation points towards possible irregularities and manipulation of the system for political gains.
In conclusion, while the ruling BJP government maintains that these allegations are misleading, it remains to be seen whether beneficiaries of the Ladli Bahna Yojana will receive their promised financial aid on time or if there will indeed be a delay as Kamal Nath predicts. The controversy surrounding this issue brings into focus questions about transparency, accountability and effective implementation in social welfare schemes. As citizens eagerly await their monthly transfers under this program, these concerns underline the importance of ensuring timely disbursements without any hiccups in order to maintain trust in such initiatives.
