Kamal Haasan apologises for praising demonetisation, advises Modi to accept mistake
Actor Kamal Haasan, who had initially hailed the Union Government's demonetisation move, has now apologised for backing the note ban.

In a column published in the Tamil magazine Anandavikatan, the 62-year-old actor said that if the Prime Minister accepts his mistake then he would salute him.
"Accepting mistakes and rectifying them is a sign of statesmanship," he is reported to have said.
In November, when Modi government banned Rs 500 and 1,000-rupee notes, Haasan had tweeted "Salute Mr. Modi. This move has to be celebrated across political party lines. Most importantly by earnest tax payers."
He also said that demonetisation was implemented in a wrong manner.
Haasan, who is harbouring political ambitions, had last month said, "Saffron is not my colour." A clear indication that he was not inclined towards supporting the BJP. He also met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and showed an inclination towards Left Parties.
