Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 To Resume from June After 5 Years: Appl. Open At kmy.gov.in, Check Details

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) declared on Saturday that the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will restart in June following a five-year break. Applications for the pilgrimage are available on kmy.gov.in, the official website. This action comes despite recent attempts to strengthen ties between China and India, especially following the agreement made in October of last year to disengage soldiers at the Demchok and Depsang locations of conflict.

According to the MEA, the ministry's planned Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will take place from June to August 2025. Since 2020, the pilgrimage has been halted because to border tensions and the epidemic. The official readout states that ten batches of fifty pilgrims each would cross Sikkim's Nathu La Pass, while five batches of fifty pilgrims each will cross Uttarakhand's Lipulekh Pass.

Yatris will be chosen through a fair, computer-generated, random, and gender-balanced method, the MEA explained, and applications must be submitted online at kmy.gov.in.

Traditionally, the government has used the Lipulekh Pass route in Uttarakhand (since 1981) and the Nathu La Pass route in Sikkim (since 2015) to organize the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra every year from June to September.
