Kailash Gahlot Joins BJP In Presence Of Piyush Goyal, Manohar Lal Khattar
Former Delhi Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Kailash Gahlot, who tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the party, today joined the BJP in the presence of Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Manohar Lal Khattar, and Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva.
He was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers and a saffron sash at BJP headquarters.

Welcoming Kailash Gehlot to BJP, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, "Today, Delhi's former minister Kailash Gahlot has joined the BJP. This is a turning point in Delhi's politics as a senior minister of the Delhi Govt has joined the BJP...I am sure that you must have seen the work of PM Modi and BJP before taking the decision to join BJP. I welcome you to the party..."
Kailash Gehlot also addressed the media stating it was not an overnight decision to switch sides. He said allegations made by AAP that he resigned under ED's pressure is not right. He said he never did anything under any pressure and it is his choice to be with BJP.
A day ago, while quitting AAP, Kailash Gehlot accused former Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal of misusing public funds for now vacated Chief Minister's residence. He also raised the Yamuna pollution and its cleanliness issue, which Delhi ruling party had promised.
He said the Liquor Policy Case tarnished party's image.
While on the other hand, AAP claimed that BJP's Enforcement Directorate pressurised Kailash Gahlot to leave AAP and join BJP or go to jail.
It was also learned that Aam Aadmi Party was not happy with Gahlot as he did not campaign for the party in Haryana Assembly Elections 2024.
Kailash Gahlot's good relations with Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena was also one of the reasons for his rift with AAP top leaders.
In his last letter to Arvind Kejriwal, Kailash Gahlot said that the Aam Aadmi Party wasted most of its time in fighting with LG, and failed to fulfill their promises.
