Justice Narasimha Reddy to head OROP commission
New Delhi, Dec 14: The union government in a bid to bring about a quietus to the One Rank One Pension issue has named retired judge, Justice Narasimha Reddy to head the one-man commission. The name of the retired judge was announced by the union government.
The veterans have been protesting a host of issues relating to One Rank One Pension. Even though the government announced OROP, many veterans had expressed displeasure over various points.

The government, however, stated that all issues would be addressed. It had announced a few months back that it will form a single-member commission to do away with the shortcomings of OROP.
It was stated at that time that the commission would be announced in December and the same was decided on the directive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The veterans had however rejected this proposal and said that if the issues and short comings were to be looked into then a five member committee ought to be formed.
They had even accused the government of resorting to delay tactics. The government had however maintained that it would resolve as many issues as possible. It is not possible to satisfy everyone, the Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar had said.
He had said that the core issues had been addressed where OROP was concerned. The one man commission would look into the problems if there were any, the defense minister had said. "We have done our bit and fulfilled our promise, but to satisfy everyone was not possible", Parrikar also expressed.
