JP Nadda Meets Rajasthan BJP Leaders, Stresses Organisational Strength
Amid protests over ticket distribution for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly polls, BJP national president JP Nadda visited Udaipur and Jodhpur on Monday to hold meetings with senior party leaders and office bearers. In Udaipur, Nadda emphasized the importance of organizational strength for winning elections and stressed the need for thorough booth-level planning. He also highlighted the significance of mobilizing voters and working diligently.
Ticket Distribution Protests

The BJP has been facing protests in several constituencies over the distribution of tickets for the Rajasthan Assembly polls. The first list of 41 candidates, released last week, sparked protests in constituencies such as Sanchore, Jhotwara, Nagar, Kotputli, and Deoli-Uniara. The supporters of leaders who were denied a ticket protested in the constituencies as well as the party office, prompting the state unit to set up a panel of senior leaders to talk to the disgruntled aspirants.
Nadda's Meetings
In Udaipur, Nadda held separate meetings with division-level party officer bearers from Udaipur city, Udaipur rural, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, and Rajsamand. In Jodhpur, he met with office bearers from Jalore, Sirohi, Barmer, Balotra, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur city, Jodhpur rural north, Jodhpur rural south, and Pali.
During the meetings, Nadda asked the office bearers to highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government and the failures of the Congress government in Rajasthan. He also urged them to work with a focused approach to form the government in the state.
Shekhawat's Comments
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who was present during Nadda's visit to Jodhpur, told reporters that the party president has asked the office bearers to work with a focused approach to form the government in the state. He said the party organization has been working to strengthen the base at the ground level for five years.
When asked about the resentment among some leaders after the announcement of the first list of candidates, Shekhawat said some reactions have come and Nadda would perhaps discuss the matter with the senior leaders during his visit. He expressed confidence that the BJP would form the government in Rajasthan and also win all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 general elections.
Assembly Elections
All 200 Assembly constituencies in Rajasthan will go to polls on November 25, while the counting of votes will take place on December 3. The results of the elections will be crucial for both the BJP and the Congress, as they will set the tone for the 2024 general elections.
JP Nadda's visit to Rajasthan comes at a crucial time for the BJP, as the party faces challenges in the run-up to the Assembly elections. The protests over ticket distribution have put the party on the back foot, and Nadda's meetings with party leaders and office bearers are aimed at addressing these concerns and ensuring a united front in the elections.
