According to the latest reports, Delhi police will file an FIR of abetement to suicide in alleged suicide case of JNU student.
The father of the deceased JNU scholar J. Muthukrishnan has demanded a CBI probe into the events leading to the death of his son. Also, he called his son's death as a 'murder'.
The 27-year-old Ph.D student allegedly committed suicide in south Delhi's Munirka Vihar on Monday evening. The student from Tamil Nadu was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his friend's house.
The incident took place on Monday evening, and the police have said that the student Muthukrishnan killed himself over personal reasons, after discovering a post which his friends shared, stating that he was discriminated in MPhil and PhD admissions.
While police said he was depressed over personal issues, his friends shared his Facebook post in which he had alleged discrimination in MPhil and PhD admissions.
"When Equality is denied everything is denied," he wrote in a Facebook post on March 10. No suicide note has been found till now, police said. Till now no evidence has been found that the extreme step was taken by the student owing to any issues at the university, said a senior police officer. He is said to have been depressed for sometime over some personal issues, he added.
