JNU row: My son did the right thing in coming back, says Umar Khalid's father
New Delhi, Feb 22: My son took the right decision in coming back to the JNU, says Dr S Q R Ilyas, the father of Umar Khalid who is also a member of the All India Muslims Law Personal Board.
Dr Ilyas told OneIndia from Delhi that it was a good decision that his son and the other students had taken in coming back.

On the next course of action, he said that Khalid and the rest will surrender. "Once they surrender, they will apply for bail", he added. [My son is not a traitor, says father of Umer Khalid, alleged organiser of Afzal Guru event]
Their decision to come back was a collective one, Dr Ilyas said while adding the entire student fraternity is with them.
Further, he also said that he is requesting the Prime Minister to ensure that there is proper security at the courts where the students are being produced. After the incident at the Patiala House Court, there has been a sense of fear.
I still doubt how tight the security is, but I am requesting the PM and his government to ensure that the Delhi police handle the situation better.
We were all very worried for him and it comes as a relief that he has returned to the campus. I watched him on television last night and even spoke with him. They will surrender if the Delhi police goes to the campus, Dr Ilyas also added.
