Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Unveils Candidates For Upcoming Assembly Elections
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced its third set of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand. This list includes five names, featuring current legislators Chamra Linda and Sukhram Oraon. Linda will contest from Bishunpur, while Oraon will stand from Chakradharpur. In the 2019 elections, Linda defeated BJP's Ashok Oraon by 17,382 votes, and Oraon won against BJP's Laxman Giluwa by 12,234 votes.
JMM's Strategic Candidate Selection
In addition to Linda and Oraon, the JMM has chosen Yogendra Prasad for the Gomia seat. Snehlata Kandulna will represent Khunti (ST), and Jiga Susaran Horo is set to contest from Sisai (ST). These selections are part of JMM's strategy to strengthen its position in key constituencies across the state.

Earlier on Wednesday, the JMM unveiled its first list of 35 candidates. This included Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who will run from Barhait, and Kalpana Soren from Gandey. The party also released a second list featuring Mahua Maji as their candidate for Ranchi. These announcements highlight JMM's focus on retaining influential seats.
Upcoming Election Schedule
The assembly elections in Jharkhand are scheduled to occur in two phases. The voting dates are set for November 13 and November 20. Following these phases, the election results will be declared on November 23. This timeline is crucial as parties prepare their campaigns and strategies to secure victory.
The JMM's candidate announcements reflect their efforts to maintain a strong presence in Jharkhand politics. By fielding experienced legislators like Linda and Oraon alongside new faces, they aim to appeal to a broad voter base. As the election dates approach, all eyes will be on how these candidates perform at the polls.
With strategic candidate placements and a clear election timeline, the political landscape in Jharkhand is poised for an intense electoral battle. The outcomes of these elections could significantly impact the state's governance and future political dynamics.
