Support for the Army Major who used a human shield in Kashmir came from the Attorney General of India. He should be applauded and not criticised, the Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi said in a statement. They are working under a lot of pressure and exercising restraint to a great level, the AG also said. It may be recalled that the Major had ordered a resident to be tied in front of a Rakshak vehicle to ensure the safe passage for a five-vehicle convoy that he was leading.
The Army personnel are trained and are responsible for their actions. Military operations cannot become a subject matter of debate on the social media, he further said. The poll booth is a symbol of democracy and the Major should not be criticised. He should be applauded. They are guarding our borders admirably, the AG further stated.
