Mukesh Ambani has officially launched JioHotstar, a new OTT platform created by merging JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. To attract users, Reliance Jio is offering free premium subscriptions to many existing subscribers.

Who Is Eligible for a Free JioHotstar Subscription?

Jio is extending free JioHotstar access to users who previously enjoyed complimentary subscriptions to either JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar. The standard subscription plan starts at ₹149, but some users can continue enjoying premium content at no extra cost.

The launch of JioHotstar comes just in time for the IPL and ICC Champions Trophy 2025, positioning the platform as a major competitor in India's OTT space. The website is now live, and Jio has also rebranded its apps on Android, iOS, and smart TVs.

How to Check If You Get JioHotstar for Free

Existing Disney+ Hotstar Users

If you already had a Disney+ Hotstar subscription, you will automatically receive a JioHotstar subscription for the remaining duration of your existing plan.

JioCinema Subscribers

Users with a monthly or annual JioCinema plan will also be upgraded to JioHotstar at no extra cost.

Jio Mobile & Broadband Users

Customers who received free access to JioCinema or Disney+ Hotstar via Jio's mobile or broadband plans will continue to enjoy the same benefits with JioHotstar.

How to Check Your JioHotstar Subscription

To verify your subscription:

• Log in to JioHotstar using your phone number or email.
• Check your subscription status in the account section.

If you had auto-pay enabled for a JioCinema plan, it has now been canceled. Once your current plan expires, you'll need to subscribe to JioHotstar manually and set up auto-pay again if desired.
