Reliance Jio customers in Mumbai and other regions faced connectivity issues on Monday, with many reporting disruptions in mobile internet access and call drops.

The outage left people frustrated who expressed their dismay over the issues on social media sites. Some customers experienced intermittent internet connectivity, while others reported complete service disruptions.

Downdetector, a platform that tracks online service outages, showed a significant spike in complaints related to Jio's services. According to the data, 68% of users reported problems with their mobile networks, 37% with mobile internet, and 14% faced issues with JioFiber connectivity.

A Reuters report attributed the nationwide outage to a fire at a Reliance Jio data centre. The fire has been contained, and servers are expected to return to full operation soon, according to a source quoted by the news agency.

In an official statement, Reliance Jio attributed the disruption to a technical problem. "This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced problems in availing seamless services on account of minor technical issues. The same have been resolved, and the seamless services of Jio have been fully restored. We regret the inconvenience to our subscribers," said a Jio spokesperson.
