Jilted uncle throws acid on 16-year-old niece

Lucknow, Feb 3: In yet another UP shocker, a

of 11th standard was abducted by her 35-year old maternal uncle who later threw

on her. The girl suffered major injuries but managed to escape further harm.

A resident of Sarojininagar, the girl was entering tuition classes when her uncle called her up and asked her to meet him. She refused, but when he threatened to shoot her dead, she agreed.

She headed to the Barabirwha chowk to do so. Asking her to sit in his car, he drove toward Shaheed Path and started molesting her, while confessing that he loved her. On resisting him and refusing his proposal, he threw acid on her.

That's when she jumped out of the car and sought the help of a tempo driver who dropped her to the Ramabai police station from where she was rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the parents of the girl alleged that the accused was bothering her for quite some time. Having investigated the case, the police have termed it a case of 'one-sided' love.
