Jharkhand teenager kills man for attempting to rape her

Ranchi, Oct 1: A teenage girl allegedly killed a 65-year-old man after he molested her and tried to rape her, police said on Thursday.

Police said the body of Sukan Ghashi with stab wounds was found in Katahi jungle in Jharkhand's Chatra district, around 170 km from Ranchi, on Wednesday.

Police seized a knife and a sash from the crime spot. After area villagers told them about the owner of the sash, police detained and interrogated the 15-year-old girl.

Police said the teenager allegedly admitted to the murder and said she stabbed the man as he molested her and attempted to rape her.

Sukan had gone to the jungle to graze cattle when he spotted the girl.
