Jharkhand Speaker given 'Z' category security cover

Assembly Speaker has been put in the Z category security after elevating the position of the office in the list of protocol.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Prasad Singh on Tuesday informed the House on the latest state order on protocol.

The Speaker would follow the Governor and Chief Minister, and if there were a deputy chief minister, in the list of protocol, enabling the Speaker to get Z' category security.

The order comes a day after the minister chaired a meeting with Chief Secretary R S Sharma to decide the protocol and security related matters.

The Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court would follow the Speaker in the new order on protocol followed by ministers, and the Chief Secretary would follow MLAs, according to the order.

Singh also announced that the Speaker would get 'Z' category security as per the latest protocol.
