Jharkhand shocker: 2 Muslims herding buffaloes thrashed, hanged

Ranchi, Mar 19: In yet another shocking incident, two Muslim men were beaten and hanged to death in Jharkhand. The gruesome act which is a reminiscent of last year Dadri incident, took place on Friday in Latehar district. Reportedly, Muslim men were thrashed while they were herding buffaloes on their way to market.

As per media reports, mob first beaten up cattle traders identified as Muhammad Majloom, 35, and Azad Khan alias Ibrahim, 15 and then they were hanged from a tree.

According to TOI report, their bodies were strung up with their hands tried behind their backs and their mouths stuffed with cloth.

Anoop Birthary who is SP of Lathehar was quoted as saying, "The manner of their hanging showed that the assailants were led by extreme hatred".

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) Prakash Ram said that Hindu radicals were behind the killing of Muslim men.

Meanwhile, the incident has sparked protest in the area. Reportedly, villagers also threw stones at officials who had gone to control situation. Outraged villagers said that they were targetted in past too.

Latest reports say that an FIR has been lodged against unknown persons in the case.
