Jharkhand Road Crash Claims 18 Kanwariya Lives; Horrific Videos Go Viral
In a devastating road accident, at least 18 Kanwariyas were killed and several others seriously injured in Deoghar district of Jharkhand early Tuesday morning. The tragedy occurred around 4:30 am near the Jamuniya forest area, under the Mohanpur police station limits.
According to police, a 32-seater bus carrying devotees participating in the Shravan Kanwar Yatra collided head-on with a truck transporting gas cylinders. The force of the crash left many Kanwariyas injured, some of them critically.

Inspector General of Dumka Zone, Shailendra Kumar Sinha, confirmed that the casualties may rise as several injured are in critical condition. Emergency teams were immediately deployed, and injured pilgrims were rushed to nearby hospitals and primary health centres for urgent medical care.
The district administration is monitoring the situation closely, and a full-scale rescue and relief operation is underway.
The accident happened on a significant day of the Shravan Kanwar Yatra, as over three lakh devotees had gathered at the Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar to mark the third Somwari of the holy month.
Godda MP Nishikant Dubey expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said:
"In my Lok Sabha constituency of Deoghar, during the Kanwar Yatra in the holy month of Shravan, 18 devotees lost their lives in a road accident involving a bus and a truck. May Baba Baidyanath grant strength to their families to endure this sorrow."
Kanwariyas, who were travelling during the holy month of 'Shravan', were on their way to offer holy water at Shiv Vishnu Temple. This annual pilgrimage sees many devotees embarking on journeys across India, often on foot or by vehicle, to pay homage at various temples.
