Jharkhand: PM Modi To Visit Hazaribagh On October 2, Will Announce Projects Worth Rs 83,000 Crore
With only a couple of months left for Assembly elections in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will do a mega rally in Hazaribag on October 2. During this one-day trip, he will inaugurate, launch, and lay the foundation for projects valued at over Rs 83,300 crore.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has announced that Modi will introduce the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan. This initiative has a budget exceeding Rs 79,150 crore and aims to promote the development of tribal communities nationwide. The programme targets around 63,000 villages, impacting over 5 crore tribal individuals across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 States and Union Territories.

Focus on Tribal Development
As part of his visit, PM Modi will also inaugurate 40 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) and lay the foundation for an additional 25 EMRS. These schools represent an investment of over Rs 2,800 crore and are intended to enhance educational opportunities for tribal communities. The focus is on addressing gaps in social infrastructure through various interventions.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), the Prime Minister will initiate projects worth more than Rs 1,360 crore. These include over 1,380 km of roads, 120 Anganwadis, 250 multi-purpose centres, and ten school hostels. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure and services for tribal populations.
Infrastructure and Health Initiatives
Additionally, PM Modi will highlight significant achievements under PM JANMAN. These accomplishments include electrifying over 75,800 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) households in approximately 3,000 villages. Moreover, there will be operationalisation of 275 mobile medical units and establishment of 500 Anganwadi centres.
The Prime Minister's efforts also extend to establishing 250 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras and ensuring that more than 5,550 PVTG villages have access to clean drinking water through the 'Nal se Jal' programme. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to uplift tribal communities by providing essential services and infrastructure improvements.
The assembly elections in Jharkhand are approaching as they were last held in five phases between November 30 and December 20 in 2019. The results were declared on December 23 that year. With these new projects and initiatives being launched by PM Modi during his visit to Jharkhand, there is a clear focus on enhancing the living conditions of tribal communities across India.
