Jharkhand: JMM Leader Lobin Hembrom Joins BJP In Presence Of Ex-CM Madhu Koda, Babulal Marandi, Champai Soren
A day after Champai Soren, another former Jharkhand Chief Minister, Madhu Koda, along with expelled JMM leader Lobin Hembrom, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This move comes shortly after Soren's resignation from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), citing dissatisfaction and "bitter humiliation" within the party.
Champai Soren's switch to BJP is seen as a strategic gain for the party. His departure from JMM was driven by his discontent with the party's current operations. The 67-year-old leader's shift is expected to bolster BJP's connection with the Scheduled Tribes, a key support base of JMM. Known for his close ties with JMM chief Shibu Soren, Champai was visibly emotional during his induction into BJP.

Expelled Leader Lobin Hembrom Joins BJP
Lobin Hembrom, who was expelled from JMM earlier this year for six years, also joined BJP on Saturday. Expressing his sentiments post-joining, Hembrom stated, "We worked with loyalty in JMM; we are still devotees of Guruji (Shibu Soren). He taught us to oppose the wrong... we tried to take JMM to reach one goal. We had believed in Hemant that the tribals would get justice and development; today the bow and arrow have no power."
The inclusion of these leaders into BJP is perceived as a significant move to strengthen its foothold among tribal communities in Jharkhand. Both Koda and Hembrom have been influential figures within their previous party and their shift could potentially sway public opinion.
Madhu Koda's decision to join BJP marks another notable political shift in Jharkhand's landscape. His move follows a series of defections that highlight growing unrest within JMM ranks. Koda's alignment with BJP could signal further changes in regional political dynamics.
The recent developments reflect an ongoing realignment of political loyalties in Jharkhand. With prominent leaders like Koda and Hembrom switching sides, BJP aims to consolidate its position ahead of upcoming elections. These moves are expected to impact voter sentiment significantly.
The political scenario in Jharkhand continues to evolve rapidly with these high-profile defections. As more leaders express their dissatisfaction with JMM's leadership, it remains to be seen how these changes will influence future electoral outcomes.
