Jharkhand Speaker Convenes All-Party Meeting Ahead of Key Monsoon Session
Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto convened an all-party meeting on Thursday to ensure the smooth functioning of the House during the upcoming monsoon session. This session, starting on July 26, is the last assembly gathering before the state elections later this year.

Key Attendees and Absentees
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, minister Rameshwar Oraon, AJSU Party legislator Lambodar Mahto, and CPIML Liberation legislator Vinod Singh attended the meeting. However, BJP members were notably absent. Speaker Mahto mentioned that BJP’s Ranchi MLA C P Singh arrived late, speculating he might have been designated as the party’s representative.
Speaker Mahto expressed his expectations for a smooth conduct of proceedings in this final session of the ongoing assembly. He acknowledged that disruptions are a regular part of legislative proceedings but hoped for better cooperation this time.
Addressing Potential Disruptions
When asked about potential disruptions by the BJP over demographic changes in Jharkhand, Mahto dismissed such concerns. "There is no demographic change in the state in our view... people can go to any extent to win elections. If there are at all any changes in demography, the central government should look at that," he said.
Soren also shared his optimism for a productive and orderly session of the assembly. He expressed hope that all parties would collaborate effectively to address the state's issues.
The monsoon session is crucial as it precedes the state elections, making it imperative for all parties to work together. The assembly's smooth functioning will be a key indicator of political stability in Jharkhand.
The absence of BJP members from the meeting raised questions about their commitment to ensuring a smooth session. Despite this, Speaker Mahto remains hopeful for constructive discussions and resolutions during this critical period.
As Jharkhand prepares for elections, the upcoming monsoon session will be closely watched by political analysts and citizens alike. The effectiveness of this session could influence public perception and voter sentiment ahead of the polls.
The meeting aimed to foster cooperation among different parties to address pressing issues facing Jharkhand. Ensuring smooth legislative proceedings is vital for maintaining public trust and demonstrating effective governance.
In conclusion, with key leaders expressing optimism and a call for collaboration, there is hope that the monsoon session will proceed without major disruptions. The focus remains on addressing state issues efficiently before heading into elections.
