JEE Main 2025 Updates: Revised Exam Pattern, Dates, And Timings Here
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 on its website, nta.ac.in, according to a Times Now report. According to the notification, the first session of the exam is set to take place from January 22 to 31 January. Candidates are advised to check the official website regularly to stay updated.
Session 1 Exam Details

The Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) exams will be held on 22 January, 23 January, 24 January, 28 January, and 29 January. These exams will be conducted in two shifts:
- Morning shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
- Afternoon shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
For Paper 2A (Bachelor of Architecture), 2B (Bachelor of Planning), and the combined 2A & 2B (BArch and BPlanning), the exam will take place on 30 January 2025 during the afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Admit cards for session 1 will be available three days before the exam, while the exam city information slip is expected to be released next week.
JEE Main 2025: Revised Exam Pattern
NTA has announced significant changes to the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern on its dedicated website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The revised structure removes optional questions in Section B for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. It is now compulsory for candidates to answer all five questions in Section B. Additionally, a negative marking of -1 mark will be applied to incorrect answers in this section.
The optional questions in Section B were initially introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic but have been discontinued for the 2025 exam.
Session 2 Exam Details
The second session of JEE Main 2025 is scheduled from April 1 to 8. Registration for session 2 will begin after the release of session 1 results.
