JEE Main 2025 Exam Dates Announced: Key Details On Syllabus, Marking Scheme, And More

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has scheduled the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 to be held between January 22 and 31, according to an NDTV report. This exam will serve as a gateway for admissions to undergraduate programmes such as BTech, BE, BArch, and BPlanning.

Students registering for the January session can later decide if they wish to appear for the April session based on their performance and requirements. It is not mandatory to attend both sessions.

Exam Pattern And Subject Distribution

BE/BTech

The examination will cover Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Section A of each subject will consist of 20 questions, while Section B will include 5 questions.

BArch (Paper 2A)

The BArch exam includes three parts:

• Part I (Mathematics): Conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, this section is worth 100 marks, divided between Sections A and B.
• Part II (Aptitude Test): Also conducted in CBT mode, this section carries 200 marks.
• Part III (Drawing Test): This offline, pen-and-paper-based section is worth 100 marks.

BPlanning (Paper 2B)

This paper is divided into three sections:

• Part I (Mathematics): Conducted in CBT mode.
• Part II (Aptitude Test): Also in CBT mode.
• Part III (Planning): Conducted in CBT mode.

Marking Scheme

Candidates must choose the correct or most appropriate answer for each question. The marking scheme is as follows:

• Correct answer: +4 marks
• Incorrect answer: -1 mark
• Unanswered/marked for review: 0 marks

In case of discrepancies:

• If more than one option is correct, +4 marks will be given to candidates selecting any correct option.
• If all options are correct, +4 marks will be awarded to all candidates who attempted the question.

This structure ensures clarity and fairness in the evaluation process, enabling candidates to plan their preparation effectively.
