23 Candidates Ace JEE-Main 2024 with Perfect Scores: Telangana Shines
In an impressive display of academic excellence, twenty-three candidates have secured the perfect score of 100 in the JEE-Main 2024 engineering entrance exam. Telangana emerged as the frontrunner, with seven candidates achieving this remarkable feat. Read on to explore their success and the exams key highlights.
In a remarkable achievement, twenty-three candidates have secured a perfect score of 100 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main 2024, with the majority hailing from Telangana. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results on Tuesday, revealing the exceptional performance of these students in the crucial engineering entrance exam.

Telangana Leads the Way
Among the top scorers, seven candidates are from Telangana, demonstrating the state's strong academic prowess in engineering education. Two candidates from Haryana, three each from Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, two from Delhi, and one each from Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu have also achieved this remarkable feat. Notably, there are no candidates from the gen-EWS, SC, and ST categories with a perfect NTA score, and for the second consecutive year, no female candidates are among the top scorers.
NTA Score: A Measure of Relative Performance
The NTA score, as explained by NTA officials, is not equivalent to the percentage of marks obtained but rather represents normalized scores. These scores are standardized across multiple exam sessions and are based on the relative performance of all candidates who appeared for the examination in a particular session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees, ensuring a fair comparison of performance.
Robust Measures for Smooth Conduct
To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination, the NTA implemented a comprehensive monitoring system. A Central Control Room was established to oversee the process, with the deployment of 2 national coordinators, 18 regional coordinators, 303 city coordinators, 1,083 observers, 150 technical observers, and 162 deputy observers. Live CCTV surveillance was implemented in all examination centers to curb any malpractice, and remote locations were monitored from the Control Room located in the NTA premises in New Delhi.
Curbing Malpractice with Advanced Technology
In a significant step to prevent cheating, mobile network jammers were installed at all examination centers. The latest 5G jammers were deployed for the first time to ensure that students were not able to use mobile phones or other electronic devices during the exam.
Expanded Reach and Record Participation
JEE Main 2024 witnessed an impressive turnout, with 95.8% attendance for Paper 1 BE/ BTech, marking one of the highest percentages since the NTA took over the conduct of the test. The examination registered a record 12.31 lakh aspirants, approximately 27% higher than the previous year. The first of the two JEE Main sessions concluded on February 1, with the second edition scheduled for April.
Pathway to Premier Engineering Institutions
The results of JEE-Mains Paper 1 and Paper 2 will determine which candidates will be shortlisted to appear for the JEE-Advanced exam. This prestigious exam serves as a gateway to admission into the 23 premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). After both sessions of JEE Main-2024 Examination, the ranks of the candidates will be released, considering the best of the two NTA Scores in accordance with the established policy.
The exceptional performance of candidates in JEE-Main 2024, particularly the dominance of Telangana, showcases the high caliber of engineering education in the state. The NTA's meticulous planning and implementation of robust measures ensured the smooth conduct of the examination, while advanced technology helped curb malpractice. As the candidates eagerly await the second edition of JEE Main in April, the stage is set for another round of intense competition and the pursuit of excellence in engineering education.
