JDU Picks Shravan Kumar As Legislature Party Leader, Decision Finalised By Nitish Kumar

Senior leader Shravan Kumar has been elected as the leader of the legislature party of the Janata Dal (United) in Bihar. The decision was formalised through an official notification issued by the Assembly.

The development follows a key party meeting held a day earlier, during which JDU chief Nitish Kumar was authorised to take the final call on the leadership. The appointment is being seen as a strategic move within the party's legislative setup.

A seasoned politician, Shravan Kumar is considered a close associate of Nitish Kumar and shares a similar social background. He represents the Nalanda assembly constituency and has maintained a strong electoral record. In the 2025 elections, he retained his seat for the eighth consecutive term, underlining his political influence in the region.
