JD Vance's Election Marks Historic Moment With Telugu Woman As US Second Lady

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised the election of JD Vance as US Vice President-elect, highlighting it as a significant event. This victory brings Usha Chilukuri Vance, of Telugu descent, to the role of Second Lady of the United States. Usha's ancestral roots trace back to Vadluru village near Tanuku in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.

With the Trump-Vance win, Usha, aged 38, is set to become the first Indian-American Second Lady. Naidu expressed his congratulations to JD Vance on social media, stating, "I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to JD Vance, on becoming the US Vice President-elect. His victory marks a historic moment, as Usha Vance, who has roots in Andhra Pradesh, will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the second lady of the US."

Telugu Community Pride

Naidu emphasised this achievement as a proud moment for the global Telugu community. He expressed eagerness to invite JD Vance and Usha to visit Andhra Pradesh. The chief minister sees this as an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties and showcase Andhra Pradesh's rich heritage.

Earlier, Naidu congratulated Donald Trump on his 2024 US presidential election victory. He wished Trump success in his upcoming leadership role. Naidu believes Trump's leadership will further enhance India-US relations.

Strengthening Indo-US Relations

The chief minister noted that Trump's previous term significantly bolstered Indo-US ties. He expressed confidence in continued cooperation between India and the US under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump's leadership. Naidu shared these thoughts on social media, stating, "I congratulate Donald Trump on his victory in the US Presidential Elections and wish him success as he prepares to lead his country forward. His first tenure marked significant strengthening of the Indo-US partnership."

Naidu remains optimistic about future collaborations between India and the US. He anticipates that both nations will work closely together on various fronts, enhancing mutual interests and fostering stronger diplomatic relations.
