JD-U's Mewa Lal Chaudhary expelled from party over BAU appointments case
Chaudhary had earlier served as the vice chancellor of Bihar Agriculture University.
Janata Dal-United MLA Mewa Lal Chaudhary was on Thursday expelled from the party over irregularities in appointments in Bihar Agriculture University, said reports. Chaudhary is a JD-U MLA from Tarapur region of Bihar's Munger district.

According to reports, the probe in the matter was initiated on the direction from Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind following which an FIR was lodged under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 B of the IPC.
Chaudhary had earlier served as the vice chancellor of Bihar Agriculture University and the case pertains to irregularities in appointment of assistant professors and junior scientists at the varsity in Sabour, Bhagalpur.
The committee probing the matter is headed by Justice (retd) Syed Mohammed Mahfooz Alam of the Patna high court.
