Chennai, May 24: A day after taking oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for the fifth time, Jayalalithaa did not waste time. It was a full working day for her on Sunday, May 24.

According to sources, Jayalalithaa, who is also known as Jaya and Amma (Mother), is expected to reach the Secretariat around 3:00 pm. Her supporters will gather outside her residence to greet their thalaiva (leader) on her first working day as CM.

Sources also informed that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is likely to launch a chain of Amma Canteens, the low-cost eateries, across the state.

Jayalalithaa is also expected to accomplish several incomplete projects which were not completed during the former CM O Panneerselvam's regime.

It will not be an easy task for the AIADMK supremo as the Opposition in the state has been criticising Panneerselvam saying that he could not run the government properly.

DMK leader TKS Elangovan was quoted as saying, "The fall began much earlier and the state has gone behind many states in development."

Panneerselvam, a loyal follower of Jayalalithaa, had become the CM of the state when she was found guilty in disproportionate assets case in 2014.

Despite being the CM, Panneerselvam postponed the much-awaited global investors' meeting. It has been reported that he was waiting for Jayalalithaa's return as the CM. The Chennai Metro project, which was cleared during the previous DMK regime, is yet to begin operation.

It seems that the 67-year-old actor-turned-politician has a long to-do list and it will be a hectic day for her.
