Jayalalithaa no more- Schools and colleges shut for 3 days
The state which is already on high alert will go into a state of mourning following the news about the death of Jayalalithaa.
Chennai, Dec 6 A three day holiday has been declared in Tamil Nadu following the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa. The decision was taken by the education department following the death of the CM at 11.30 PM.
On Monday there was speculation about the schools being open or not. After announcing that the schools and colleges would be shut, it was later decided to reverse the decision.
However now with an update from the Apollo hospital, schools and colleges have decided to remain shut for the next three days. This has been done as a mark of respect and also a precautionary measure. The state which is already on high alert will go into a state of mourning following the news about the death of Jayalalithaa.
Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that the country had lost a great leader. He said that her connect with the poor will always be an inspiration to many.
