Jayalalithaa lays foundation stone of school
Chennai,Dec 30: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Wednesday, Dec 30 laid the foundation stone for construction of training centres, student hostels, scientific laboratories, and libraries at a total cost of Rs 401.14 crore across the State.
She also laid the foundation stone for the construction of 231 school buildings in various districts, an official release said.

As part of helping 10th and 12th standard students in various government schools at Chennai, Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur and Cuddalore districts, which were severely affected by the recent floods, Jayalalithaa handed over guides to five students as a symbolic gesture at a function in the Secretariat today.
The initiative would help 2.21 lakh students belonging to these districts.
