Health Problem: Jayalalithaa in jail, Bangalore hospitals on high alert
The Hindu quoted one sources as saying, "It is requested to keep a ward with emergency medical facilities in readiness and to reserve the same for emergency treatment, if need be, to be extended to Jayalalithaa, who is now in the central prison. Her blood group is O+."
"Letters are routinely sent to a couple of government hospitals as a precautionary measure whenever a Z+ protectee is around," the sources was quoted.
The report also claimed that the official said, "We keep an ambulance ready at any bandobast. It is a precautionary measure which may come in handy during any eventuality."
Jayalalithaa has been sent to jail on Saturday, Sept 27 after her conviction in 18-year-old case of disproportionate assets case. Her friends Sasikala, foster son and Sasikala's sister-in-law were the other three accused in the case.
Jayalalithaa earlier on Sunday was shifted to the hospital inside the jail. She complained of increase of sugar level and uneasiness. Later her aides, who too had complained of health problem, were rushed to the jail hospital.
