Jayalalithaa gets bail but can't be released from Bangalore jail on Friday
A source claimed that Jayalalithaa will have to spend Friday night as bail order did not reach the special court in Bangalore till Friday evening. However, another source informed that her astrologer suggested her to walk out of jail on Saturday which is an auspicious day.
AIADMK cadres erupted in joy on Friday after the Supreme Court gave bail to the former Tamil Nadu chief minister. A party cadre was quoted as saying, "It is Diwali day for us."
The bail for Jayalalithaa comes on a day when the AIADMK celebrates its 43rd anniversary. AIADMK cadres - men and women - assembled outside the party headquarters here danced in joy.
They burst crackers and distributed sweets. Similar scenes were witnessed in other parts of the state like Salem, Karur, Tuticorin.
A special court on Sept 27 convicted Jayalalithaa for corruption and jailed her for four years. She was also fined Rs 100 crore. Since then, she is in the Bangalore Central Jail.
