SC pulls the curtain on Amma's family drama; Grants interim bail; public react on Twitter

New Delhi, Oct 17: 'Amma' may get a jail or a bail today; of course, her followers had fasted and prayed since the past few weeks for the home-coming of their Amma. Jaya herself may have lost hope, refusing to apply for the same on an urgent basis. It is up to the Supreme Court now to unite 'Amma' with her children.

Nevertheless, Amma seems to have accepted her fate, as is reflected from her conduct. She knows there cannot be any exit for her now...not at least before 4 years. Embroiled in 18-year old 60 crore assets case, even if she comes out of jail, she would have a lot of answering to do (to the country). But that is a distant, unachievable thought.

Here's how the family drama plot unveils:

1:27 pm: SC grants bail to Jayalalithaa's close aide Sasikala and her relatives VN Sudhakaran & Ilavarasi also in DA case.

12:40 pm: Jaya not to leave house till Dec 18. Till that time, the AIADMK has to file a report to SC, failing which the bail will be cancelled

12:36 pm: Nariman has assured the court that Jayalalitha will write to her supporters to behave properly.

12:34 pm: Karnataka High Court is yet to suspend the charges; her bail will be granted if it is suspended

12:27 pm: SC suspends Jayalalithaa's sentence; Jaya gets interim bail

12:15 pm: Jaya's lawyer says that he is pleading for bail only on health grounds.

12:14 pm: The bench comprises three judges; chief justice Dattu is leading the bench

12:10 pm: Bail plea begins in SC on a very shoddy note. While Bhavani Singh has been dropped by the SC, Fali Nariman is fighting for Jayalalitha. Meanwhile, Subramanium Swamy who is present in the court is opposing the bail

11:10 am:

10:30 am: Tamil Nadu CM Panneerselvam vows not to shave or eat meat till Jayalalithaa gets bail
