Jaya condoles death of worker at NLC plant in firing

"I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of Raja alias Rajkumar", she said in a statement. The 31-year-old NLC employee was allegedly killed when a CISF constable on security duty opened fire after being allegedly attacked for preventing Raja and his friend from entering the second mine without authorisation.
The constable was later arrested. Enraged workers and villagers then attacked the CISF gate office at Mine II and clashed with police, who commanded a lathicharge and fired tear gas shells to disperse them.
Twenty persons and three CISF men were injured in the incident. The employees also resorted to one day strike yesterday condemning the incident.
