Jaya Prada to contest LS polls from Moradabad on Cong ticket?

New Delhi, Feb 11: Actress and Rampur MP Jaya Prada may join Congress and contest from Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency,

Currently, former cricket captain Mohd Azharuddin is the Moradabad MP. He will be vacating soon as he has urged the Congress leadership to shift him out of Moradabad.

Sources said that Jaya Prada recently met the Congress leadership

Jayaprada, 51, isn't a new face in politics. She has twice won from Rampur on Samajwadi Party ticket. later she was expelled from SP along with Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh after Singh had a major spat with the party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.

According to sources, Jaya Prada recently met the Congress leadership to discuss the matter and she has been offered Moradabad ticket.

Born in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Jayaprada entered politics in early 1990s, when she joined Telugu Desam Party.After she had a differences withparty chief Chandra Babu Naidu, she left TDP to join Samajwadi Party.

In Moradabad, Jaya Prada would replace another Hyderabad celebrity Azharuddin.
