Chennai, Dec 6: Netizens took to cyberspace to condole the passing away of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, describing her as an "Iron lady" and a "volcano erupting with talent".

#RIPAmma, #RIPJayalalithaa, #IRONLADY were some of the hashtags used by the general public who joined prominent personalities to record their grief on social media.

A Facebook post read: "You were like this volcano erupting with talent, leadership, hot iron spirit etc. in a male dominated arena .. The legacy you left behind in the form of rock solid lava will be a source of inspiration for millions.." "A great leader & a true fighter.

There were also some good Samaritans who offered help for getting medicines for the needy with the city witnessing a near bandh-like situation with all shops closed.
