Jat Mahasabha to boycott Independence Day celebrations
Jind, Aug 12: Intensifying its agitation for reservation, Akhil Bhartiya Adarsh Jat Mahasabha on Tuesday decided to boycott the Independence Day celebrations and to register its demand by wearing black bands.
Mahasabha's national president Pawanjit Banwala said before 2014 Lok Sabha polls Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders had claimed to be being well wishers of the Jats but after coming to power both in Centre and Haryana they changed colours and allegedly started working against the community.

Banwala was addressing a rally of the Jat community at Choturam Park here which was also attended by representatives of about 46 Khaps.
Banwala said on August 15, the community would boycott the Independence day celebrations and instead celebrate a black day and added that they would also aim to make the programmes of Haryana CM and ministers unsuccessful.
He said on September 27, the community members would cordon off Delhi and cut all supply routes to the national capital.
Speaking on the occasion, National President of Mahasabha's women's wing also urged the women of the community to come forward and actively participate in the protest.
The community also handed a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister to Nayab Tehsildar after taking out a protest rally.
