J&K: BSF jawan martyred in Pakistan shelling at RS Pura

A Border Security Force jawan has been martyred as Pakistani Rangers resorted to heavy mortar shelling along the International Border in Arnia and R S Pura sectors, late Wednesday night.

The BSF retaliated strongly and mortar shelling was in progress late into Wednesday night. An advisory was issued to the people in the nearby areas to stay indoors. There was considerable panic in the villages situated along the International Border.

The ceasefire violations by Pakistan continue despite several warnings from the Indian side. A ceasefire violation was reported two days back. It may be recalled that Lance Naik, Yogesh Muralidhar Bhadane, 28 had lost his life in the Sunderban sector.

The Indian Army had retaliated strongly and killed 8 Pakistani soldiers including a Major at the Kotli Janglote area opposite the Medhar sector.
