Jan Aushadhi Centers Set Record Sales, ₹1,255 Crore Sold By End Of Nov 2024
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has announced that as of November 30, 2024, the sale of medicines through Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (Jan Aushadhi Centers, PMBJP) has exceeded ₹1,255 crore.
This achievement is expected to result in a savings of approximately ₹5,020 crore for citizens during the financial year 2024-25.

This milestone was made possible through the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), with the aim of making affordable medicines accessible to every corner of the country.
To further enhance access to healthcare, PMBJP has signed agreements with the Central Armed Police Forces, National Security Guard, and Assam Rifles. The objective is to make generic medicines available in the hospitals run by these forces.
First International Jan Aushadhi Center
India has taken a significant step toward delivering affordable medicines beyond its borders by opening the first international Jan Aushadhi Center in Mauritius. This initiative aims to introduce India's affordable and high-quality medicines on a global scale.
New Scheme for the Pharma Industry
The Department of Pharmaceuticals has launched a ₹500 crore scheme in the current financial year to promote the pharmaceutical industry. The scheme is aimed at supporting the country's pharma clusters and MSMEs, focusing on improving their productivity and quality.
The initiatives by PMBJP and the efforts to promote the pharma industry represent a major step toward making healthcare more affordable and accessible. These measures are expected to have a positive impact both domestically and internationally. The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana is making rapid progress in its mission to deliver affordable medicines to every citizen of India.
