Jammu: Mentally ill man inadvertently crosses IB in Samba, arrested

Jammu, Jan 13: A mentally disturbed man from Pakistan today inadvertently entered into Indian territory after crossing international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir and was arrested by the Border Security Force, an official said.

"A 25-year-old mentally disturbed person crossed into this side of international border in Basantar river area in Ramgarh sub-sector of Samba district early today," a senior BSF officer told PTI.

"Nothing incriminating was recovered from him," he said, adding that the man was bare-footed and wore just a Pathan Shilwar and Kameez with a sweater.

He was quizzed by several agencies including BSF but nothing suspicious was found from him.

"He was no doing any reece or anything," the official said, adding he is unsound and seems have inadvertently crossed into this side. The man is likely to be handed over to the police, he said.
