Jammu & Kashmir: Unidentified Gunmen Kill Civilian In Kupwara Days After Pahalgam Terror Attack
Only 4 days after Pahalgam attack, an unidentified gunmen shot a civilian in Kashmir's Kupwara. The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Ghulam Rasool Magray, who was reportedly shot inside his own home. The reports said an unidentified men forcefully entered his house in the Kani Khas area and shot him, causing severe injuries.
Ghulam Rasool's neighbors immediately gathered after hearing the sound of a gunshot and found him seriously injured. They took him to the District Hospital in Handwara, where doctors referred him to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar for further treatment, however, Magray succumbed to his injuries, which included critical wounds to his abdomen and wrist.

The assailants managed to escape the scene, leaving behind a wave of shock and sorrow.
Jammu and Kashmir police lodged the matter and launched an investigation to catch assailants and uncover the motives behind Magray's murder.
This killing has heightened tensions in the region, especially as it occurred amidst a high-security alert following the devastating Pahalgam terror attack. That attack saw 25 tourists and a local resident lose their lives, prompting a vigorous response from the security forces.
Security Forces Respond to Terror
The security situation in the Valley has been tense after the terror attack in Pahalgam, leading to a significant crackdown on militant activities by the security forces. In an effort to dismantle the networks responsible for such acts of violence, the authorities have detained over 2,000 individuals suspected of having links to militant groups. Homes of those believed to be sympathizers of militants have also been raided as part of the extensive operations aimed at preventing further attacks. This aggressive approach underscores the government's commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
