Jammu and Kashmir: Encounter breaks out in Bandipora

Srinagar, Oct 28: A gunfight broke out today between security forces and militants in the forest area of Bandipora district, about 45 kms from here, police said.

The encounter erupted at around 4.45 pm after a joint team of army and police launched an anti-militancy operation in Buthoo forests following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.

No casualties were reported so far.
