Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024: BJP Shares Star Campaigners List
After unveiling a list of fifteen candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the BJP also disclosed its key campaigners for the first phase. The party's statement to the Election Commission of India highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a lead campaigner, followed by Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and JP Nadda.
Notably, Chief Ministers from several states will also join the campaign. Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath, Rajasthan's Bhajanlal Sharma, and Himachal Pradesh's Jairam Thakur are among those who will support candidates in the initial phase of the elections.

Key Campaigners for J-K Assembly Elections 2024
The list prominently features former BJP general secretary and newly appointed election in-charge for Jammu and Kashmir Ram Madhav. Other significant names include party national general secretary in-charge Jammu and Kashmir Tarun Chugh, Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina, Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, Rajya Sabha member Ghulam Ali Khatana, General Secretary (organization) Ashok Kaul, and Jammu and Kashmir BJP vice president Sofi Yousuf.
The polling to elect 90 members of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will occur in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1. The results will be declared on October 4. This election marks the first since Article 370 was abrogated in 2019, transforming the state into two Union Territories.
Background of J-K Political Scenario
Jammu and Kashmir has been without an elected government since June 2018 when the BJP withdrew from the coalition with Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP-BJP government. The state then came under Governor's rule, leading to the dissolution of the Assembly by then-governor Satya Pal Malik.
The inclusion of prominent leaders aims to bolster support for BJP candidates as they prepare for a crucial electoral battle. The strategic involvement of key figures underscores the party's commitment to securing a strong foothold in Jammu and Kashmir.
This election is pivotal as it represents a significant political event post-Article 370 abrogation. The outcome could shape the future governance structure in this region.
The BJP's comprehensive list of campaigners reflects its robust strategy to engage voters across different regions effectively. By leveraging influential leaders from various states, the party aims to maximise its outreach during this critical electoral period.
As preparations intensify for these landmark elections, all eyes will be on how these campaigns unfold and their impact on voter sentiment in Jammu and Kashmir.
