Security Forces Intensify Operations

Following Bhat's elimination, security measures have been heightened in the region. The forces have increased their operations against terrorists due to recent attacks. On November 23, Baramulla Police discovered a terror hideout in Kunzer, Baramulla district.

Kashmir Zone Police shared on X: "In the ongoing operation, one terrorist was killed and has been identified as Junaid Ahmed Bhat (LeT, Category A). The said terrorist was involved in civilians killing at Gagangir, Ganderbal and several other terror attacks. Operation continues in the upper reaches of Dachigam by J&K Police along with Joint Parties of RR and Security Forces."

Ongoing Operations in Dachigam

Reports indicate that two terrorists were initially believed to be trapped during the operation. This encounter is part of a series of security incidents occurring recently in Kashmir Valley. The joint efforts by J&K Police and Army are still underway to address these threats.

Bhat was recently seen on CCTV after an attack on October 20 at a tunnel construction site in Ganderbal. This attack resulted in the deaths of a doctor and six migrant workers. The footage showed him entering a worker's camp where those involved in the tunnel project resided.

Bhat's Involvement and Appearance

A resident of Kulgam, Bhat was captured wearing black attire and wrapped in a grey shawl while carrying a rifle. His image surfaced shortly after the attack, highlighting his involvement.

The latest developments underscore the ongoing efforts by security forces to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. As operations continue, authorities remain vigilant to ensure safety and stability in the region.
