Jammu and Kashmir Elections 2024: Full List Of BJP Candidates And Their Constituencies

On September 8, the BJP announced its sixth list of candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections in 2024. This list includes ten names, adding to the party's previous announcements.

BJP's Sixth List of Candidates

The BJP has named Er. Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi and Adv. Syed Wazahat as candidates for Srigufwara-Bijbehara and Shangus-Anantnag East, respectively. These selections are part of their strategy to strengthen their presence in these regions.

In the Padder-Nagseni constituency, Choudhary Roshan Hussain Gujjar has been chosen to represent the party. His selection is expected to resonate well with local voters.

Focus on Reserved Constituencies

The party has also focused on reserved constituencies. For Gulabgarh (ST), Kalakote-Sunderbani, Budhal (ST), and Thannamandi (ST), they have fielded Mohd. Iqbal Malik and other candidates to appeal to specific communities.

Surankote (ST) and Mendhar (ST) will see new faces from the BJP aiming to capture these seats. The inclusion of diverse candidates reflects the party's inclusive approach.

Representation in SC Constituencies

For constituencies reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), such as Ramnagar, Ramgarh, Suchetgarh, R.S. Pura-Jammu South, Akhnoor, Kathua, Bishnah, and Marh, the BJP has nominated various candidates including Dr. Bharat Bhushan for Bishnah (SC).

Er. Aijaz Hussain and Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir have been selected for Chrar-i-Sharief and Rajouri (ST), respectively. Their candidacies aim to bolster support in these areas.

Strategic Selections

Mohd. Idrees Karnahi will contest from Gurez (ST), while R.S. Pathania will represent Kathua (SC). These strategic selections are part of BJP's broader plan to secure a majority in the upcoming elections.
