Jammu accident toll increases to 22

A total of 48 passengers were injured in the accident that occurred due to the negligence of the driver who had parked the vehicle on an incline when he was loading goods on the bus in Jammu.

Jammu, Oct 21: The toll in a road accident in Jammu region's Reasi district rose to 22 on Friday after an injured passenger died.

Police said the unidentified victim admitted in Jammu city's Government Medical College died late on Thursday night.

The accident occurred on Thursday morning when a 48-seater bus carrying 70 passengers plunged into a deep gorge.

"A total of 48 passengers were injured in the accident that occurred due to the negligence of the driver who had parked the vehicle on an incline when he was loading goods on the bus," a police official said.

The bus was heading from Reasi to Bakal village.
