Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness Meets President Droupadi Murmu to Strengthen Bilateral Partnership
Prime Minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. They discussed enhancing their partnership across various sectors. President Murmu warmly welcomed Prime Minister Holness on his inaugural visit to India, highlighting the special bond between the two nations, particularly through cricket and music. The Indian diaspora in Jamaica also plays a crucial role in strengthening this relationship.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties
President Murmu expressed satisfaction with the steady growth of India-Jamaica relations, especially in trade and economy. Both leaders agreed on the importance of deepening partnerships through parliamentary, academic, and cultural exchanges. They also emphasised cooperation in international forums to further strengthen ties between their countries.
International Cooperation and Advocacy
Murmu appreciated Jamaica's involvement in all three editions of the Voice of the Global South Summits organised by India. She noted that both nations are strong proponents of reforming multilateral institutions, including the UN Security Council. They have been collaborating within groups like L-69 to achieve these goals.
The President expressed optimism that Prime Minister Holness's visit would enhance bilateral relations. She believes this visit will contribute significantly to boosting ties between India and Jamaica.
